The Iraqi deputy prime minister expressed on Thursday his country's willingness to host the Turkish premier.
Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Barham Salih said that Iraqi authorities were looking forward to seeing Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Baghdad.
"This visit is very important for the two countries," Salih told AA correspondent.
Salih said that he believed the visit would contribute to political and economic cooperation between Turkey and Iraq.
"Iraq aims at working with Turkey to solve problems and further improve bilateral relations to serve interests of the two countries," Salih told the AA.
Salih said that a date had been set for Erdogan's visit, but refrained from announcing when the formal visit would be paid.
Barham Salih was in Istanbul on June 12th for a two-day Turkish-Arab economic forum. He had meetings with Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President Abdullah Gul.
