The Iraqi Central Criminal Tribunal has sentenced a former defence ministry senior official to 114 years imprisonment in absentia on corruption charges, reports said Thursday.
Former deputy secretary general at the Iraqi Defence Ministry Ziad Tarek Abdullah al-Qattan was convicted of four charges of administrative and financial corruption, the state-run al-Sabah daily newspaper reported. He remains on the run.
The case was investigated by Iraq's Commission on Public Integrity (CPI).
