"Islam is a religion encouraging peace. It will never allow acts of terror since it consider killing of a person killing of whole humanity. No one can say that the Islam allows terrorism. Somebody's wrongdoing cannot attribute to the Islam," Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.
Ruling Justice & Development (AK) Party hosted a fast-breaking dinner (iftar) in honor of ambassadors in Ankara.
Speaking following the meeting, Prime Minister Erdogan said, "today, democracy is more powerful in Turkey in all its dimensions. We are determined to take all necessary steps to make Turkey a more modern country. We are living through a period in which significant changes and developments occur in the world.
Turkey also faces important tests because of its unique position between the east and the west. We pursue a multidimensional and constructive policy with our democratic and secular political system, our sound free market economy and our social tradition. Our policy aims at setting up good relations with the other countries."
"Our target is to create a regional and international atmosphere that will provide stable and humanitarian development in peace and prosperity. Turkey will fulfil its responsibilities to this end," he said.
Prime Minister Erdogan stressed, "weapons of mass destruction should be eliminated in the whole world. While the total money spent for armament amounts to 1 trillion USD, there is a terrorism stemming from poverty and ignorance in some countries including African countries. There is no global peace in the world for the time being."
