Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Thursday killed a fighter and wounded two girls, in two separate incidents on Thursday, according to Palestinian medical workers.
Two Palestinian girls aged five and nine were wounded when an Israeli tank shell exploded near their home further south, close to the Bureij refugee camp, Hassanein said.
Palestinians said the fighter killed in the air strike belonged to the Islamic Jihad group.
The fighter was killed and another wounded when a tank fired on a group of fighters near the border east of Gaza City, according to Muawiya Hassanein, the head of Gaza emergency services.
An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the air strike and the separate firing along the border near the refugee camp.
