Israeli military made a statement about the Land Forces' Commander Major General Avi Mizrahi's words on Turkey, saying that those were his own opinions and not related to the Israeli Armed Forces, Turkey's state TV reported on its official website.
The statement further said that the General, at a meeting he attended, said some words that could be interpreted as criticisms on Turkey's history.
Israeli daily Haaretz quoted Gabi Levi, Israeli Ambassador to Ankara, who was called to the Turkish Foreign Ministry, as saying to the Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary that Avi Mizrahi had told his own opinion and his words did not reflect Israel's official view.
