Israel media reported "a temporary document outlining the general principles of an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement can be expected to be compiled by the end of the year", Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert reportedly told French President Nicolas Sarkorzy on Sunday night.

According to a senior French official, during a welcoming dinner for the French president in Jerusalem, concerning Hamas, Olmert reportedly said that the Gaza truce would continue to hold, Israeli newspaper Jerusalam Post added.

The report quoted Israel Radio as reporting regarding negotiations with Syria, the prime minister purportedly said the talks were being conducted professionally, but downplayed suggestions of a summit involving him and Syrian President Bashar Assad.
