The Israeli occupation army raided the West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday, for the second day in a row detaining at least 11 Palestinians and wounding two people, including a teacher on her way to school.
Palestinian security officials said the army entered the city in the early morning hours with jeeps and bulldozers. They surrounded several buildings claiming they were looking for fighters.
Palestinian stone-throwing youths confronted the army jeeps and a bulldozer as it demolished a building. The occupation army confirmed it was carrying out an operation in the city, but declined any further comment.
Palestinian minister for Jerusalem affairs
Israeli occupation forces arrested Palestinian minister for Jerusalem affairs, Khaled Abu Arafeh on the outskirts of the holy city - Jerusalem.
Abu Arafeh, a member of Hamas movement, was detained at a checkpoint at the entrance to al-Azaria, a suburb of east Jerusalem which is technically part of the occupied West Bank.
The sources said Abu Arafeh, one of the 24 ministers in the Hamas-led cabinet, had been travelling to al-Azaria to inaugurate new political offices.
Thursday's arrest came just one month after Israeli police briefly detained two newly elected Hamas MPs in east Jerusalem on March 1.
