A Japanese TV channel will promote the Cappadocia region in central Turkey.

Japanese state TV channel NHK TV shot a program in the historic and touristic sites in the central Anatolian province of Nevsehir.

The program aims to inform the Japanese people who want to visit the Cappadocia region.

"We want to brief the Japanese people on the rules they have to obey when visiting tourist attractions in the region, some other legal rules regarding preservation of historical sites," Kazuya Masuto, the director of the program, said.

The program will be broadcast on February 26.

Cappadocia is a famous and popular tourist destination, as it has unique geological, historic and cultural features, such as sedimentary rocks formed in lakes and streams, and ignimbrite deposits erupted from ancient volcanoes approximately 9 to 3 million years ago.
