Baykal met Justice & Development (AK) Party deputy from Zonguldak Koksal Toptan who was nominated for the speaker of parliament by his party.
He stressed that Turkey needed a presidential candidate who would be supported by all sections of the community.
Baykal underlined that if there is such a presidential candidate, CHP deputies could attend the Parliamentary General Assembly sessions on the presidential election.
Replying to a question on the presidential candidate, Baykal stated that the president must be a person who embraces the basic principles of the Constitution.
On the other hand a full support to Koksal Toptan for the parliament speaker election is also given by DSP(Democratic Leftist Party) as it is determined by the leader of the party, Zeki Sezer.
