President George W. Bush will meet July 21 with two leaders from Kosovo, President Fatmir Sejdiu and Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, during their first visit to the United States as leaders of the newly independent nation, the White House announced Friday.

Bush will discuss "his strong support for the efforts of the Kosovo government to build a democratic, prosperous, multiethnic state with institutions that serve all of Kosovo's citizens," the announcement said.

42 nations have recognized Kosovo independence, including Turkey, the U.S. and 20 of the 27 European Union members.

Also, international donors started pledging millions of euros Friday to help build Kosovo's battered economy, but insisted that its ethnic Albanian leaders battle endemic corruption to receive it.
