Kurdish TV starts test broadcasting in Turkey

TRT`s Kurdish channel TRT-6 will broadcast interwievs about the project and Kurdish music on the first day.

Turkish Radio and Television Company (TRT) starts Kurdish broadcasting on Thursday.

Kurdish TRT will air test programs tonight at 18.00. The broadcast will be aired two Kurdish dialects, Kurmanji and Zaza.

TRT`s Kurdish channel TRT-6 will broadcast interwievs about the project and Kurdish music on the first day.

TRT-6 Coordinator Sinan İlhan said Kurmanji dialect will be used for the first broadcast and other Kurdish dialects will be included gradually as the channel moves forward.

Satellite position:12685, Vertical (V), Symbol: 30000 FEC: 5/6
TRT-6 will start official broadcasting on 1 January 2009.
