Kuwaiti Interior Ministry denied on Wednesday accusations uttered by ex-lawmaker Saadoun Hammad al Otaibi of the ministry's intentions to sabotage the national polls due on May 17, Kuwaiti official news agency reported.
Former parliament member said yesterday "he was informed by an interior ministry officer of the ministry's instructions to sabotage the electoral process and that the government targetted the tribal communities to grap a unilateral control of the authority."
KUNA reported the ministry in its statement asserted that the accusations by the former member of the National Assembly were "groundless and untrue".
The ministry said that unless Otaibi provided evidence for his accusations and pinned out the police officer, the ministry will adopt the necessary legal measures to preserve its credibility regarding the "random" accusations.
