Kuwait's Revival of Islamic Heritage Society says US accusations that it channels money to groups including Al-Qaeda are baseless.
The Kuwaiti government says it regrets" the decision Friday by the U.S. Treasury Department to freeze any assets found in the United States belonging to the Kuwait-headquartered group.
Khaled al-Jarrallah, the undersecretary of the foreign ministry, said Sunday Kuwait trusts the role and the transparency" of the charity.
The Revival of Islamic Heritage denied in a statement Sunday it has any connections to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida. It says American allegations are not backed by any material evidence."
This small oil-rich state in the Gulf is a major ally of Washington.
