Ankara Mayor Melih Gokcek declared on Sunday that there would be no water cut in capital Ankara if water saving continues in the city.

Holding a press conference, Gokcek requested the citizens to continue with saving water for some more time and stressed that there would be no more water cuts.

Underscoring that they were rapidly conducting activities in order to bring water to Ankara from Kesikkopru Dam, Gokcek indicated that water would definitely be brought to the city till December 31st.

Commenting on the criticism regarding the water to be brought from Kesikkopru Dam, Gokcek said, "the opposition party and certain NGOs claim that the water to be brought from Kesikkopru is 'undrinkable'. This is not true. Nobody should doubt the cleanliness of Kesikkopru's water".

Gokcek also noted that they would establish a water purification facility in order to clean the water to be carried from Kesikkopru Dam.
