Mexican MP invites Turkey to global warming confab

Moises Dagdud Lutzow, a member of the Mexican-Turkish Interparliamentary Friendship Group, held talks at the Turkish Parliament on Wednesday.

Lutzow first met with the chairman of the Turkish-Mexican Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Hasan Angi.

I would be very happy to see the members of the Turkish-Mexican Interparliamentary Friendship Group in Mexico, Lutzow said.

Later, Lutzow met with the chairman of the Turkish Parliamentary Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Committee, Soner Aksoy.

Turkey and Mexico have the opportunity to boost relations in all fields, Lutzow said.

"I intend to receive information on Turkey's efforts made in the field of renewable energy. We have begun to see the impact of global warming in Mexico. Great floods took place in the Mexican State of Tabasco recently," Lutzow said.

Lutzow extended an invitation to Aksoy to attend an international conference on global warming in Tabasco in June.

Aksoy indicated that Turkey and Mexico can cooperate in the areas of industry, trade and energy.

Aksoy informed Lutzow on Turkey's efforts made in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Aksoy also thanked Lutzow for the invitation extended to him and members of his committee for the Tabasco conference.
