Minister calls on Dutch businessmen to invest in Turkey

The Turkish state minister for foreign trade said on Tuesday that Turkey aimed to raise its trade volume with the Netherlands by five-folds in three years.

Turkey's State Minister Zafer Caglayan said Turkey aimed to raise its foreign trade volume with the Netherlands to 20 billion USD.

"Turkey has drawn direct foreign capital worth 65 billion USD in the last five years, and 20 percent of this was from Dutch companies," Caglayan told a meeting in the Netherlands.

Caglayan called on Dutch businessmen to invest in Turkey, and said there were actually 400,000 Turks living in the Netherlands today.

"Children of the Turkish workers who came to the Netherlands in the past are employing 53,000 people today," he also said.

Also, Caglayan said a Europe without Turkey would be imperfect.
