Turkish State Minister Zafer Caglayan will go to French capital of Paris on Monday on a formal visit.
Caglayan will attend events in Paris which will take place within the scope of "Turkey Season". Turkish minister will attend "Central Asia-Europe-Africa Interregional Business Forum" and participate in "Texworld" and "Premiere Vision" fairs that will take place within the framework of the activities, Turkish State Ministry told in a statement.
The Turkish Season activities began in France in July with a show of the "Fire of Anatolia" dance group. The event aims at promoting Turkey in France with nearly 400 artistic and cultural activities in more than 70 cities for nine months.
The statement also said "Second Turkish Commercial Counsellors meeting" foreseeing coordination of Commercial Counsellors's offices and Trade Attaches will be organized in Paris, France on February 10, 2010 under the chairmanship of Caglayan.
31 commercial counsellors and attaches will deliver speeches at the meeting where the participants will discuss works to boost trade with European countries.
The statement said commercial and economic relations between Turkey and France recorded a significant rise particularly after 2001.
The statement also said France ranked the second in 2009 among the countries Turkey made trade the most. "Turkey's bilateral trade volume with France exceeded 13.2 billion USD despite the impacts of the global crisis. 6.2 billion USD of this figure is Turkey's exports to France and 7 billion USD is imports from France," the statement said.
Caglayan is expected to return to Turkey on February 11.
