A magnitude 5.2 earthquake shook the Costa Rica-Panama border region early on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties from the quake, which the USGS said was centered 20 miles (30 km) south-southeast of Golfito, Costa Rica, and 40 miles (65 km) west of David.

The quake struck at 0908 GMT at a depth of 18 miles (29 km), and was followed by a magnitude 4.7 tremor 35 minutes later, the USGS said.
