A molotov cocktail was hurled to the garden of Cumhuriyet Newspaper's building in Sisli district of Istanbul late on Saturday.
Security guards of the newspaper put out the fire caused by the molotov cocktail.
They also captured one of the three assailants.
Ali Edeoglu, an official from the newspaper said that "the person who was captured was 13-years old. The child told us he was directed to hurl the molotov cocktail."
Police is searching for the other two assailants.
Cumhuriyet's columnist and chairman of the board of trustees Ilhan Selcuk, 83, had been taken into custody on March 21 under the Ergenekon operation with suspected links to an illegal gang which was accused of paving the way to a military coup.
