According to the new gate system, Turkish Airlines started to use and many companies are about to enforce, smokers may have two cigarette breaks of 10 minutes each; one in the morning and one in the afternoon, Daily Sabah reported.

The new technology recording the time employees stay at the toilettes will now be used for measuring cigarette breaks.

Smoking ban forced smoking employees to get out of the building many times a day and the employers were saved by the new technology card entrance systems measuring the time employees stay at the toilettes.

Meyer is the producer of the system which records the start and end times of the employees work hours.

Turkish Airlines started to use the technology for the first time in Turkey and installed one card reader at the tollgates used by the smoking employees and limited the cigarette breaks to two; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The employees can stay maximum10 minutes at each break.
