The former appointee to the portfolio of tourism ministry in the Hamas-formed PA government Tanas Abu Aita has thanked Hamas for choosing him to the post although he apologized for poor health and preoccupation in private business.

Abu Aita told PIC that Hamas chose him to the portfolio in view of his activity in the tourism field for more than 27 years.

Asked on Islamic-Christian relations in Bethlehem and other Palestinian cities, he affirmed that they were always excellent, stressing that Palestinian Muslims and Christians enjoy tolerance and strong relationship.

He affirmed that Hamas realizes such strong and brotherly relations between Muslims and Christians, and expressed conviction that such a relationship would get stronger under a Hamas-led government.
