Muslim group sets up 'anti-corruption police'
A Islamic organisation in Indonesia, Front Pembela Islam (FPI) has said that they have created an anti-corruption squad, "to drive out the corrupt who are responsible for poverty in Indonesia."

"The team that we created will hunt down the corrupt, independent of whether they are politicians, bankers, policemen or common people,” said Irwan Arsidi, the secretary of the investigative section of the FPI told Adnkronos International (AKI).

Arsidi said that the team is composed of 300 elements and the first arrest will be carried out shortly.

“We have already begun the investigations but obviously we cannot reveal on whom they are based,” he said, explaining that the people will be arrested and then transferred to the police.

Indonesia is considered to be among the most corrupt countries in the world by the international watchdog, Transparency International.
