A new attempt to hold a peace summit between the Chad and Sudanese leaders will be held on Thursday, Senegal's President Abdoulaye Wade said.
Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir did not make an appearance Wednesday as expected at the presidential palace in Dakar, where the peace deal was expected to be signed.
Omar el-Beshir of Sudan and Idris Deby of Chad were to have held talks, in the presence of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon and Wade, aimed at sealing a peace accord.
Wade said a new meeting had been organised for 1130 GMT on Thursday after the opening of an Organisation of the Islamic Conference summit in the Senegalese capital.
