A new suspected case of foot-and-mouth disease was reported in Britain Wednesday a month after a major outbreak in the county of Surrey, southern England.
A temporary five-kilometre exclusion zone has been imposed around the farm in the Egham area, some 50 kilometres away from the outbreak in early August, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said.
The BBC reported that preemptive slaughter was under way on the farm. During the last outbreak, 600 animals were killed.
