Turkish President Abdullah Gul has condemned the bomb attacks in Istanbul that killed 16 people and injured more than 154 others.

Releasing a message, President Gul expressed profound sorrow over killing of innocent people in two attacks in one of Istanbul busy shopping districts.

I want to reiterate once again that determination and power of our people and state will not allow those who aim at harming our unity and tranquillity with gory acts of terror, to reach their heinous targets. No one can reach their goals by claiming lives of innocent people in acts of violence," he said.
