He said when he looks at the results from Tuesday's Pennsylvania primary he suffered more from Hillary Clinton's strength with voters over age 65 than from her base among the white working class, CNN reported.
"They are very loyal to Sen. Clinton," he said. "And I think part of that is they've got a track record of voting for not just Sen. Clinton but also her husband (former President Bill Clinton)."
Obama said he wants to make sure older voters know he pays attention to issues like pension security and prescription drugs.
Clinton won the primary by a margin of less than 10 percent, enough to keep her campaign going. Obama spent far more than Clinton dd on television advertising for the Pennsylvania primary.
