Mahmud Kilic, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), said on Wednesday that a delegation comprising of representatives of OIC-member states' parliaments could be sent to Gaza in an effort to support Palestinian people.
Delivering a speech at the inauguration of an extraordinary meeting of the executive board of Parliamentary Union of OIC in Istanbul, Kilic said that Israel violated "all the rules of international law" with its offensive against Gaza.
Kilic said that the international community and influential countries should display efforts in order to stop Israel immediately and unconditionally, as well as to put an end to the blockage against Palestinian people.
"All Muslims should take a common stance to support Palestinians, besides, Palestinian groups should be called on to join their forces," Kilic said.
Kilic also said that those responsible for the developments in Gaza should be tried before international courts due to the war crimes they committed and Israel should be asked for compensation for the losses it caused.
Noting that several members of the European parliament were currently in Gaza to hold a series of talks, Kilic said that representatives of the parliaments of OIC-member countries could also pay a visit to the region in order to support Palestinians, observe the ongoing humanitarian aid activities and meet several parliamentarians.
