OIC head: new Israel air strikes 'welcome message' to US envoy
The head of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) defined the air attacks on Gaza as a challenge.
Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the secretary general of the OIC, said that the Israeli air strikes on Gaza after the cease-fire decision were a challenge.
"Unfortunately, this is a challenge to all efforts for a peace," Ihsanoglu said in Moroccan capital of Rabat where he attended an OIC meeting.
Ihsanoglu said that Israel gave a "welcome message" with those air strikes to the new special envoy of U.S. President Barack Obama to the region.
"This shows how difficult this problem and a solution are," he said.
Israel staged an air strike on Gaza on Wednesday after its soldier was killed and three others were wounded in a bombing on Tuesday.
