The forum is affiliated with the 57-nation OIC, which decided to upgrade the level of representation for the KKTC in 2004. A 25-person delegation, comprising representatives from Islamic Youth Forum, the UN Development Program and other organizations, is expected to attend the Aug. 18-21 meeting, hosted by the KKTC's Foreign Ministry.
Foreign Minister Turgay Avcı will deliver the inauguration speech of the meeting and host an opening dinner for participants. The meeting is expected to endorse a statement on a youth initiative for the alliance of civilizations.
