The debt of the Turkish private sector to financial institutions overseas has dropped 8.5 percent in 2009 when compared to the previous year and it was recorded as 128.2 billion USD.

According to figures obtained from the Turkish Central Bank, the Turkish private sector (excluding banks) received loans worth 1.2 billion USD in 2009.
