Pakistan PM sacks national security adviser
Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday sacked his National Security Advisor Mehmood Ali Durrani following his statement given to media stating that Ajmal Kasab is a "Pakistani national".

A statement from the prime minister's office said Durrani had been sacked "for his irresponsible behaviour for not taking the prime minister and other stakeholders into confidence, and a lack of coordination on matters of national security."

Durrani, a retired general, became national security adviser to the nine-month-old civilian government having formerly served as ambassador to Washington when army chief Pervez Musharraf led the country.
