Twenty Palestinian orphan children from Gaza, on Thusday met with the Turkish families, who sponsor them, in the IHH, Humanitarian Relief Foundation's headquarters in Fatih.

Only seen each other through photographs previously, orphan children and sponsor families hugged for the first time.

Out of warzone for a short period of time, happiness of the children was visible in their eyes. Orphan children thanked the families who
take care of them.

Lost his father during the Israeli assault, 10-year-old Suruk Cafer said it is very difficult to be a child in Gaza.

Cafer said, especially in the last war they had the most trouble: "The war has hurt children the most. We'd gone thru very difficult days. I'm sure of many things in Istanbul, but in Gaza, I can not be so sure. Because what is going to happen and when is never clear there. A bomb can explode at any moment and children can die."

One of the sponsors, Ozlem Gokmen expressed her happiness to see the orphan she takes care of. Gokmen said "if we can make them forget they are orphans for a bit, I'd be happy. Our wish is to witness no more war, no more cry of orphans"

IHH Deputy Chairman Yavuz Dede announced that 13 thousand 960 orphans from 21 countries sponsored through IHH. "Families cover the every need of an orphan, such as education, housing, health, by £ 70 monthly donation. With the Sponsor Family System, we aim to reach hundreds of thousands of orphans "he said.

Orphans visited historical and touristic places of Anatolia and Istanbul in Turkey . Gazan orphans will return to Palestine on Friday.

Israel launched on Dec. 27 a massive offensive in Gaza, killing more than 1434 Palestinians, a third of them children, and wounded at least 5300.

Israel punished and terrorised civilians in Gaza in a disproportionate attack in its three-week war on the territory earlier this year, a United Nations report has found.

Israeli forces deliberately attacked civilians, failed to take precautions to minimize loss of civilian life and cited strong evidence Israeli forces committed grave breaches of the Geneva Convention, the 575-page report noted.

The report also said the council should refer the matter to the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor in The Hague within six months, if Israel refuses to probe it.
