Fresh Israeli public opinion surveys reflected decline in the popularity of the Kadima party that was founded and shortly headed by the bedridden Israeli premier, Ariel Sharon, especially among Israeli settlers who fear another disengagement plan from the West Bank similar to the one made in Gaza Strip in September of last year.
Israeli rightist parties, including the Likud Party, recoded a slim increase in popularity as they maintained assault on Ehud Olmert, the Israeli acting premier, accusing him of feebleness before the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas.
For his part, Olmert was trying to restore the high popularity rate enjoyed by his party for a while at the expense of Palestinians by shedding more Palestinian blood. Israeli occupation forces (IOF) atrocities in the West Bank and Gaza Strip escalated noticeably leading to the death of at least ten Palestinian citizens in the last few days.
For his part, the fanatic rightist Israeli Knesset (Parliament) member Evi Eitam alleged that he had reliable information that fighters of the Qassam Brigades, armed wing of Hamas, were actively assisting other Palestinian factions in rocking the Israeli settlements with home-made missiles.
"The latest upgraded missiles that struck Ashkilon city and other costal cities were indeed Hamas-made missiles, but the Movement refrained from publicly announcing such thing due to political calculations in its favor", the Israeli MP claimed.
