Turkish President Abdullah Gul delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of a meeting of the Turkey-Bahrain business council in capital Manama on Wednesday.

Gul urged Bahrain's businessmen to make investments in Turkey, saying that his country was an attraction point for investors in energy, agriculture, health, tourism and real-estate sectors.

"Turkey would eventually overcome the effects of a global financial crisis and its economy would resume growing," Gul said.

The Turkish president also said Turkey had been making progress in its European Union membership talks.
