Recession continues in Turkey's automotive exports

Exports from the automotive sector dropped by 68.2 percent in the first half of February 2009 when compared to same period of last year.

Recession continues in Turkey's automotive exports


According to the figures of Uludag Exporters' Association in the northwestern province of Bursa, automotive exports amounted to 365.2 million U.S. dollars between February 1 and 15, 2009. The figure was 1.1 billion U.S. dollars in the same period of last year.

The automotive sector exported its products to 109 countries and 10 free zones in the same period.

The figures of exports from the automotive sector to 26 EU member states in the first half of February are as follows:
