Retired officer arrested, Tekin in custody

The retired officer Oktay Yıldırım, who had been in custody for the 27 hand grenades, has been arrested for the crime of instituting a "terrorist organization." It is claimed that Yıldırım's fingerprint was found on the bombs and that made him admit the facts.

In accordance with what Yıldırım said, the police arrested retired captain Muzaffer Tekin and retired sergeant major Mahmut Öztürk, who is intimate with Tekin. It is claimed that Tekin is arrested for "being the member of a crime organization and being implicated in the crime."

Yesterday Oktay Yıldırım, Mehmet Demirtaş and Ali Yiğit was sent to the İstanbul Law Court. The accused were decided to be sent to prison for the crimes of "being the member of a terrorist organization and keeping explosives without license."

The operation was held last week in Umraniye, into a slum house belonging to Mehmet Demirtaş; 27 hand grenades, 6 fuses and TNT blocks were found. Mehmet Demirtaş, Ali Yiğit and Oktay Yıldırım was taken into custody during the operation. It was claimed that the bombs were reported by the father of Ali Yiğit, who was the renter of the house.
