A rural Jewish cemetery in Germany has been vandalized, with several tombstones toppled over and two of them broken, police said Friday near Hanover.

There have been no arrests and Lower Saxony state police said they had not yet obtained evidence of possible suspects.

Police said it was likely the anti-Semitic attack on the graveyard in the small town of Liebenau took place late Saturday. Neo-Nazi violence often peaks around April 20 each year. Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler was born April 20, 1889.

Two tall engraved sandstone monuments apparently broke when they fell to the ground.
