Russian Foreign Minister said President Dmitry Medvedev had orgered extra security measures in the area but gave no further details.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Saturday that Moscow would pull out troops out of the conflict zone in Georgia once additional security arrangenments there are put in place.

He said President Dmitry Medvedev had orgered extra security measures in the area but gave no further details.

"The president issued an order to the relevant authorities to start the adoption of extra security measures envisaged in the six-point plan," he told reporters. "As these security measures are implemented, the withdrawal of forces sent to carry out this reinforcement operation will be carried out."
