Raouf Abdel Rahman made the announcement at the end of Wednesday's session, saying "the experts need more time to finish their work on other documents." During the session, the prosecution still focused on proving that signatures on execution orders for 148 Dujail villagers are authentic handwriting by Saddam Hussein.

Rahman read out a report presented by experts, which said that all documents had Saddam's signature and handwriting. Saddam and his co-defendants are charged with killing of 148 Shiites after a failed assassination attempt on him in 1982.  He and seven co-defendants could face death penalty if found guilty. Saddam is expected to face another trial in May on genocide charges against Kurds in the 1988 Anfal campaign.
