Saudi Arabia said on Wednesday it plans to attend an international Middle East peace conference called for later this year by US President George W. Bush.
When Saudi Arabia receives an invitation from US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, it will study it and will be keen to attend, Foreign Minister Saud Al Faisal said at a joint news conference with his US counterpart.
Saudi Arabia does not have diplomatic relations with Israel, which will also be attending the conference.
Saud said the meeting, tentatively set for September, should discuss matters of substance to advance peace in the Middle East.
