Security meeting chaired by PM ends

The security meeting held at the Prime Ministry in Ankara has ended. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired the meeting.

The security meeting held at the Prime Ministry in Ankara has ended. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan chaired the meeting.

Aside from Erdogan, Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul, Interior Minister Osman Gunes, Land Forces Commander Gen. Ilker Basbug and Gendarmerie Forces Commander Gen. Isik Kosaner attended today's meeting.

The meeting lasted almost three hours.

A statement released regarding the security meeting held under chairmanship of Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that "it was confirmed once again that fight against terrorism has the highest priority for the country."

The statement by Prime Ministry Press Center noted that security issues including fight against separatist terrorist organization were discussed in detail in the meeting, presided by Erdogan,

"Turkish people have a sound unity against terrorist actions. It is important to maintain this spirit of solidarity and determination," it stressed.

The statement underlined that efforts and activities are being conducted by the government, Turkish Armed Forces and security organizations in a strong cooperation.
