Slovaks warn may have to cut gas to heating plants

Slovakia will have to reduce gas supplies to heating plants and further curb deliveries to companies from February if the flow of Russian natural gas via Ukraine does not resume by then, a minister said on Thursday.

Economy Minister Lubomir Jahnatek said Slovakia, one of the countries in central Europe most affected by the cut-off of Russian gas, can cover its consumption until the end of January from reserves and supplies from alternative sources.
