Somalian President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has proceeded to Istanbul after completing talks in Ankara.

During his stay in Ankara, President Ahmed met with Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Current situation in Somalia, contributions of Turkey to Somalia aiming at the restoration of peace, tranquility, stability and welfare as well as political, economic, commercial, educational, cultural relations and regional problems were high on agenda during the meeting.

It is the first formal visit in presidency level between Turkey and Somalia.
