Spanish ambassador in Ankara and an official from the Turkish Ministry of Environment will sign Thursday a protocol to launch the project.

The project will be run under the supervision of United Nations' development agency in Turkey and it is a part of UN's Millennium Development Goals or MDG, a set of targets that 189 United Nations member states have agreed to try to achieve by the year 2015.

The MDG includes eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender equality and empowering women, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, and devising a global partnership for development.
