Spain plans to send 511 more soldiers to invaded Afghanistan in response to pressure of U.S. President Barack Obama, Defence Minister Carme Chacon said on Thursday.
Most of the troops will be divided into three teams and train 2,000 members of the new Afghan army combatant against Taliban, Chacon said in parliament, while 46 soldiers will be posted to the headquarters of Nato's ISAF mission in the country.
Spain currently has about 1,000 troops in Afghanistan.
