The man allegedly involved in a shooting spree at a university campus in southern Turkey last week has been captured by police late Thursday night, Turkish NTV reported.
The man, who is being identified as Omer U, was seen firing a pistol during violent clashes at the Akdeniz University's campus on April 6.
According to a statement issued by the governor of Antalya, the man was detained by police at 11:15 pm Thursday night during a security operation and is currently being questioned.
Seven people were injured and 34 taken into police custody following clashes between left and right wing groups on the Akdeniz university campus in the southern Turkish city of Antalya.
Groups armed with guns, knives and sticks fought had a running battle through the university's grounds, with all seven of those reported wounded in the fighting having been struck by bullets.
