Afghan officials on Wednesday said Taliban had overrun another district in southern Afghanistan by expelling the government troops.
Separately, three NATO soldiers were killed in a roadside landmine blast in the same region on Wednesday, the foreign military announced.
A statement released from NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) headquarters said the soldiers were on patrol when their vehicle hit the bomb. Names and nationalities of the soldiers were not released.
In Kandahar province, the former stronghold of Taliban, officials said the Ghorak district was captured by Taliban. This is the third district seized by Taliban from local police in less than a week.
