Thailand to host delayed ASEAN summit next Feb

Thailand announced formally on Wednesday that it will host a delayed summit of Association of Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN) in Bangkok in mid-February.

Thailand news agency quoted Thai Prime Minister's Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey as he was making the announcement to host the summit.

The 14th summit of ASEAN was postponed from mid-December because of political turmoil including the closure of Bangkok's two airports by anti-government protesters.

ASEAN countries comprises of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Burma, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Representatives from Japan, South Korea, China, India and the UN Secretary General are also due to attend the event.
