In Sana'a, around 5,000 protesters took to the streets carrying banners denouncing the Israeli military attack on Gaza and shouting slogans calling for an action from Arab and Muslim leaders to support the Palestinians.
"No to the Zionist massacres," read one banner. Others read: "Wake up Arabs" and "Until when will this silence continue?" and "Siege and murder is the Zionist model of peace."
Protesters marched in the main streets of the city and gathered later in a stadium, where two government ministers and several MPs delivered speeches condemning Israeli military attacks in Gaza.
Witnesses said protests were also staged in the southern port city of Aden and the Red Sea city of Houdeida.
