Erdogan on presidential election
"We have a Council of Ministers meeting scheduled for Monday (August 13th). We will have a Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting on the same day as well. We will assess the (presidential election) calendar altogether," said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday, when commenting on the presidential election process.
Erdogan replied to questions at the parliament, regarding the schedule for presidential election.
Upon a question on whether he would hold talks with opposition leaders, Erdogan said, "I do not know if I personally, or our candidate friends, will meet them. It is not clear yet".
In his reply to another question on when he would submit the new government to the President, Erdogan noted, "As you know the process regarding the formation of the new government has also started today. I am planning to complete and submit the cabinet list as soon as possible".
When asked if he would wait for the new president (to get elected) to submit the new government list, Erdogan replied: "I am not compelled to do so".
